Eugene is one of the largest cities in the state of Oregon, located on the Willamette River. The University of Oregon is home to the Northwest-focused Museum of Natural and Cultural History and the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, known for its Asian collections. The Fifth Street Public Market has a French inspired cafe, as well as locally owned stores featuring purveyors and products specifically from Oregon. 

On the weekends visitors can enjoy the Eugene Saturday Market, the oldest open-air craft market in the United States. On Tuesdays, the local farmer market is located in the brand-new Farmer’s Market Pavillion. World Athletics Championships Oregon 22

For the first time ever, the World Athletics Championships will be held in the United States. Taking place in Eugene Oregon from July 15-24, 2022, bringing athletes from around the world to compete at Hayward Field in TrackTown USA.

Tips for easy transportation to Hayward Field: bike, hike, shuttle or ride share to get within walking distance of Hayward Field. Plan to arrive early and make sure you have a clear plastic bag for personal items and an empty refillable water bottle per Hayward Field policies. 

 
 
 

Riverfront festival 

Celebrate community and connection at Eugene’s new Downtown Riverfront Park! All are welcome for this fun, free event of food, music, art, a livestream of the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 events at Hayward Field, entertainment, and culture from Oregon and around the world. Oregon Experience Laboratory

Visit seven interactive landscape installations at the UO North Campus Riverfront Land Lab.

Each immersive installation highlights one of Oregon’s seven regions. Through play, participants bring Oregon's landscapes and stories to life by exploring the installations and recovering key elements to restore the balance.

The Oregon Experience Laboratory is a Design Collective founded by Travel Oregon, the Fuller Initiative for Productive Landscapes (FIPL), and the Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS).

Ride Share

Uber and Lyft are both available options for on-demand car hire. However, Uber pre-made reservations are not supported in this area. Aditionally, Several taxi service providers are available in and around the Eugene-Springfield area.

Airport

The Eugene Airport is located at 28801 Douglas Dr and is the main airport servicing the Eugene area. The best way to get from the airport to downtown Eugene is by either taxi or ride-share services such as Uber or Lyft. Additionally, some hotels have airport shuttles. Upon departure, it’s recommended that you arrive 2 hours before your flight is scheduled to leave to ensure you have enough time to check in and get through security. Buses

The Eugene-Springfield Metro area has an extensive bus network that serves the central area of lane county. The EMX bus line is easy to use and has high frequencies to easily move about Eugene. More infomation can be found on the Lane Transit District’s website in multiple languages by clicking the toggle language button on the top right of the website.

Train Station

The Eugene Train station is located at 433 Willamette Street and has multiple trains a day north and south making the train a convenient way to get to Portland Oregon and the Portland Oregon Airport (PDX). Train service is provided by Amtrak which also operates buses around the state of Oregon.

 

In Case of an emergency

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, dial 911. The main hospital in Eugene is located at 1255 Hilyard St. near the University of Oregon Campus. Additionally, a more comprehensive hospital is located in Springfield at 3377 Riverbend Dr.
