Global Seal of Biliteracy awardees can earn college credit in multiple ways.
University Pathways
We’re excited to share two inaugural universities with pathways designated to recognize and reward our GSB holders. Congratulations to the University of Idaho, University of Texas, Arlington, and to all of you who are "#GlobalSealCertified." We invite you to occasionally check back to this page as we continue to add higher education partners.
The University of Idaho and the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) offer easy pathways into their respective language programs for students proficient in various languages. These programs allow students to earn a Language Minor in under a year or a Language Major in two to three years.
Both universities utilize Avant Proficiency Testing or the Global Seal of Biliteracy to grant college credit hours. At the University of Idaho, students can receive up to 16 college credit hours for free, while at UTA, students can receive up to 14 college credit hours for free when they take a course at the next level in the language. American Council on Education - (ACE Accreditation)
The American Council on Education (ACE) is an organization committed to the advancement of higher education. They celebrate and recognize individuals, institutions, and programs committed to diversifying higher education leadership and fostering excellence and innovation. They produce research, such as the American College President Study, which provides insights into the composition of college leadership, including the representation of women and people of color. ACE also makes college credit recommendations to colleges and universities for some of our commonly accepted tests. See the chart below for credit recommendations.

A Comprehensive Guide to Showcasing Language Skills on the Common App
With a Global Seal of Biliteracy or State Seal of Biliteracy
Including your Global Seal of Biliteracy certification on a Common App is crucial for high school students as it not only showcases their linguistic capabilities but also their dedication to multicultural understanding and global citizenship. Universities and colleges value such skills as they contribute to a diverse and inclusive learning environment. Furthermore, this certification can open doors to numerous opportunities, such as study abroad programs, internships, and jobs in the global market. Given the competitive nature of college admissions, students who have earned the Global Seal of Biliteracy should make it a point to prominently feature this achievement on their Common App, a platform used by more than 1,000 higher education organizations.

Once you’ve received your Global Seal of Biliteracy make sure to notify your current or potential higher education institution. Doing this could enhance your eligibility for a scholarship or additional scholarship funds.
