When our educational institution customers decide to use GSB products and services with their students under the age of 13, GSB relies on an authorized individual at the educational institutions to consent to our collection of personal information from these students on behalf of their parents before we collect that information. In providing its consent to us, the educational institution represents that it is authorized to act in lieu of parents in doing so, or that it has obtained authorization from all such parents (to the extent required by applicable law) for us to collect personal information from these students in connection with their use of our products.
We provide this notice in order to help ensure that the consent provided by the educational institution is done with an understanding of what personal information we intend to use from children under age 13 and how we intend to use it.

GSB will generally collect the following personal information from students, including children under the age of 13:
First and last name, organization name, state, country, and email address. We use this information to identify the student, associate the student with their educational institution, and issue and deliver the credential.
Language and assessment information, including the language assessed, the qualifying assessment and the date taken, and the resulting proficiency level, which we use to determine whether a credential is awarded and at what level.
Information we receive from educational institution customers and associate with the student to deliver the services, including district name, school name, teacher name, other staff names, testing group name, and grade level.
GSB may also use cookies to automatically collect certain other information, including usage information, browser and device information, log data, IP address, JSON web token, and approximate geolocation. This information is used to provide our services and to provide aggregated and deidentified usage metrics to schools and school districts.
How We Use and Share Student Personal Information
GSB shall only collect and use the personal information described above as necessary to provide the Services, including for support purposes.
If necessary to provide the services, we may share certain student personal information with companies that assist us in providing the services. This includes companies that provide cloud services for storage of the information, security services to help maintain confidentiality of the information, analytics companies that help us understand how our services are used and to troubleshoot issues. A list of third party service providers and the services they provide is available here.
The authorized individual at the educational institution may request, on their own behalf or on behalf of the respective student’s parent (1) to review personal information that is collected from their students under the age of 13; (2) to request deletion of any or all such personal information; and (3) to instruct GSB to cease further use or collection of personal information from any or all such students. GSB will otherwise delete personal information that is collected from test takers under the age of 13 within 90 days of termination of the contract with the educational institution unless it is legally necessary for us to retain it for a longer period of time.
