Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages
Who we are
CSCTFL is a regional, non-profit association that primarily serves language professionals within our designated 14 states: Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
How we support language educators
CSCTFL is known as The Friendly Conference and, for 53 years, we have promoted the teaching and learning of world languages across the Pre-K — post-graduate spectrum. CSCTFL supports language professionals in a number of ways, including: 1) the annual multi-day convention, 2) the Extension Workshop, 3) the Leadership Academy, 4) the Delegate Assembly, 5) a range of webinars on pertinent topics, and 6) the annual scholarly volume, The CSCTFL Report.
Our 2021 convention
CSCTFL welcomes language professionals from across the nation and around the world to our 53rd annual convention, which will be held in a fully-virtual format, March 11 – 13, 2021. We have planned a particularly robust and varied program that will feature two keynote speakers, 15 workshops, more than 150 45-minute break-out sessions, a virtual exhibit hall, and a range of meet-up, wellness, and entertainment activities.
The 2021 convention theme is Multiple Perspectives. One Vision. Our multiple perspectives cast a wide-angle lens on everything we do, in teaching and in life. Our focus on standards-based and proficiency-oriented learning provides the one vision that unifies our work. Your vision will help bring 2021, with all its uncertainties, into perspective! Right now, all we need is … you!
