Türkçe Yeterlik Sınavı (TYS)
The Turkish Proficiency Exam (TYS), developed by the Yunus Emre Institute, is an internationally recognized standardized test designed to assess the Turkish language proficiency of non-native speakers. It aligns with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and plays a key role in facilitating the admission of foreign students to Turkish universities. Where is this test recognized?
Internationally recognized anywhere a B2 or C1 CEFR score is accepted (Alte Q-Mark).
Is it accepted by Global Seal of Biliteracy?
Yes! You can earn a Global Seal by achieving these scores in all sections:
Working Fluency: B2
Professional Fluency: C1
In order to earn a Global Seal, candidates must meet the minimum score requirement on all sections of the test.
Is a proctor required?

When and Where does this test take place?
The Turkish Proficiency Exam (TYS) is held three times a year at Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centers abroad and in select locations across Türkiye, including Ankara, Istanbul, and Kilis.
