GLOBAL C.R.E.D. LEARNING ACTIVITIES

Global C.R.E.D. offers a variety of Learner-focused activities. Look for the “Learner Track” icon on the schedule. Students can also access content from other four Track offerings.

  1. Cameo Presentations (2-5 min short testimonials by successful learners)

  2. Informative Sessions (15 or 30 minute presentations on a variety of topics)

  3. Keynote Entertainment (30 and 60 minute sessions from bilingual performers)

  4. Panel talks with Q & A about careers and opportunities for language users.

  5. Round Table talks (30 minutes, most feature language learners, discussing specific topics. These include Language-Specific Round Tables)

FREE Online SELF-ASSESSMENT of Language Proficiency

Language learners can take a “Self Assessment” of their skills using a series of Can-Do statements. This is not an official test of proficiency because results are based on student answers, but it will give learners an approximation of their abilities and let them know how close they are to a Global Seal of Biliteracy certificate level. We recommend that learners register and take the assessment before the event.

Learn about future opportunities: Colleges, Scholarships, Careers and more.

Several Cameos, Sessions and Round Table talks include information about how language learners used their skills to access opportunities.

Global C.R.E.D. Post Event Activities

  1. Consider adopting a Global Seal of Biliteracy program. If you already are using a State Seal program, the same test could be used for both awards, maximizing student opportunities. The Global Seal can be issued as soon as its first “Functional Fluency” level of Intermediate-Mid is reached. This begins a gamification of language learning as students work to LEVEL UP as early as middle school and all the way through adulthood. Awarding a Global Seal earlier than graduation also helps students set themselves apart on early college admission and scholarship applications.

  2. If you are an Educator, why not test to earn your own Global Seal of Biliteracy. You’ll learn from the firsthand testing experience and gain insight into your own skill levels. One Educator’s Story.

  3. View Educator Track sessions and reflect on what you can add to your own instruction or curriculum that will engage and/or enhance learning.
