Steve Kaufmann is an award-winning language blogger, YouTuber( lingosteve), author and co-founder of the language learning app and platform LingQ.

Steve was born in 1945 and graduated from L”institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris, France in 1966. He has been a diplomat, forest industry executive, business owner and more recently is active in learning languages and helping people learn.

Steve speaks 20 languages including: French, Japanese Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, German, Russian, Korean and many more. He is currently learning Persian and Arabic.

Compelling and Comprehensible Input, where to find it.

Compelling and comprehensible input, tailored to the varied interests and needs of learners, is key to learning outcomes. Where can we find it? How can we make it? The opportunities are immense and growing. I draw on my own experience with languages like Persian, Arabic and Ukrainian where resources are far more limited than is the case for English or Spanish. These principles are universal and apply to all languages.
