Patrick Wallace

Program Specialist for World Languages and Global Workforce Initiatives, Georgia Department of Education

Mr. Patrick Wallace currently serves as the Program Specialist for World Languages and Global Workforce Initiatives with the Georgia Department of Education. In this capacity, he oversees a variety of programs for the state including the Ga Seal of Biliteracy, International Skills Diploma Seal and Dual language Immersion Initiative programs in addition to working with numerous consulates, state and city organizations in support of language related projects. Mr. Wallace is a former German teacher of 23 years. He is a two time Teacher of the Year and the State German teacher of the Year in 2013. He is an author, social media marketer and sits on the board of numerous global education non-profit organizations in the Atlanta area.

Building Synergy and Collaboration to Meet Needs and Build New Opportunities

This session will focus on the steps undertaken in Georgia to build increased synergy of effort and broaden and deepen the coalition of partners pushing to support world language and Global Education in the State. The presenter will share an overview of current state efforts and partners, talk about how these opportunities were created and explain the ongoing efforts to engage stakeholders and support world language teachers across the state. The presenter will also talk about how this work has pivoted and evolved in response to the current pandemic.
