Dr. Myriam Met
Former Acting Director, National Foreign Language Center, University of Maryland
Dr. Myriam Met has worked at many levels --from pre-kindergarten through university-as a supervisor of world language programs and bilingual education for major urban and suburban school districts, teacher trainer, program developer and evaluator, and university level administrator (University of Maryland). Dr. Met has been provided consultant assistance to school-based programs within and beyond the United States. She has worked with large school systems such as Los Angeles, New York City, Gwinnett County (GA), as well as state offices of education. In addition, she has provided consultant services to language programs in Brazil, Canada, Finland, Japan, and Spain. Dr. Met has published extensively in edited volumes, in refereed and in international publications on topics related to foreign language, ESL, and bilingual education. She has given over 150 invited keynote addresses and plenary sessions in the US and more than a dozen overseas.
