Marcia Arndt

Senior Director, Team Leader of AP World Languages and Cultures, The College Board

Marcia B. Arndt is currently in her tenth year at the College Board where she serves as the leader of the AP World Languages and Cultures team. She manages curriculum, instruction, and assessment for AP Spanish Language and Culture and oversees her colleagues’ work on the other 7 AP world language and culture courses. Before joining the AP Program, Marcia was a French and Spanish instructor in middle schools, high schools, and colleges in New York, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire for 35 years. She served an AP consultant and as an exam Reader for AP Spanish. She taught teaching methods courses at three universities to pre-service teachers. She taught medical Spanish to physicians and medical students. She embraced a proficiency based, communicative approach to language instruction from early in her career and co-authored Pathways to Proficiency in the late 1980s. She was a contributing writer on several French and Spanish textbooks published in the early 1990s.

AP Resources to Guide and Support Instruction

The AP Program offers many free, online resources that guide and support instruction all types of learning environments. This session will provide overviews and updates on the various components available in AP Classroom and will discuss how they can be used for in-person, hybrid, and online instruction.
