Kimberly Freeman
Milken Educator Award 2015
Kimberly Freeman serves as the Employee Development Facilitator with the Human Resources team of Lexington County School District One. Prior to joining the HR team, Kimberly led the district’s Latin team and facilitated the World Language department in her school. A passionate teacher, Kimberly was named a recipient of the prestigious Milken Educator Award in 2015. Over her three years in HR, Kimberly has facilitated immigration and arrival support for over 75 international teachers via J1, J2, H1B, F1/OPT, VVN and other pathways. She was honored to receive the South Carolina Language Teachers Association’s “Friend of World Languages” award in February 2020. Kimberly’s interest in high-quality international teachers is also personal: her two children are students in the district’s Mandarin dual-language immersion program. International teachers have made a tremendous difference in the life of the Freeman family, and it is Kimberly’s great joy to partner with them in Lexington, South Carolina.
