AFS-USA Director of Educational Outreach, 2012 ACTFL Teacher of the Year Finalist
Jill Woerner, former classroom teacher and Global Learning Specialist at the Indiana Department of Education, joined AFS-USA in August 2019 to support educators and volunteers throughout to increase global readiness and intercultural competence in schools. She has volunteered with AFS-USA for over 12 years as a study abroad coordinator and the NSLI-Y interview coordinator. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a variety of state, regional and national organizations focused on building global competence and biliteracy among students and educators. Her undergraduate and graduate degrees are in secondary Spanish education and educational leadership and administration.

No previous experience with the language is needed…just the passion, curiosity, and motivation to get started!
