Andrea Winters
Business Operations Associate/Certificate Processor for The Global Seal of Biliteracy
Originally from San Jose, California, I made the move to Eugene, Oregon to attend the University of Oregon where I graduated with a degree in Advertising and two minors in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship. I have traveled to a few countries in Europe and love the cultures that I have experienced. Most recently, I participated in a 2-month long internship abroad program in Paris, France where I was able to learn about the different work culture and learn a bit of French. In my free time, I enjoy immersing myself into the complicated love lives of the Bachelor franchise, coaching the San Francisco 49ers from my couch, and honing my pickleball game.
Countries I Have Traveled To: Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and Mexico
Languages I Speak: Just English, I am a one-trick pony.
Best Traveling Tips: Set aside a day, or a few, that are not planned out with excursions and things to do. The best days I had in my travels were days that I got to wander a section of the city I was in and happen upon interesting shops, museums, or parks that may not be on any tourist list but are what locals experience every day. I learned more about the culture and way of life doing this than I did visiting a tourist trap or major attraction.
If you have the opportunity to travel alone safely, take it! It doesn’t have to be to another country, maybe it’s just the next town over. This was the time I learned the most about myself, gained confidence in my ability to find my way in the world no matter the situation, and felt the most fulfilled.
Favorite Foods Eaten in a Different Country: Moulles frites in Brussels, Belgium and Escargot in Paris, France (Don’t knock it ‘til you try it!)
Favorite Landmarks Visited: Call me a cliché, but I could stare at the Eiffel Tower for hours, especially when it sparkles at night.
